With 29 years of pharmaceutical experience, the last 19 years have been in the field of Urology, as the Urology Business Consultant for the Southern California. My involvement traversed Pre and Post marketing strategy and account management for the launch of 3 major Urology products- Caverject and Detrol LA for Pharmacia/Upjohn and West Coast pre-launch for Myriad/Prolaris.
Main responsibilities included Key Opinion Leader (KOL) development and launch strategies for the Southern California area and National Urology thought leaders. Involved in study placement for Detrol, Caverject and Prolaris. Key account manager for Southern California area Urologists.
Liaison for the key urological society, the Western Section AUA , Medicare and for Educational program development for Upjohn/Pharmacia, developed a unique Practice Management program with the Western section AUA which continues on as part of Wsaua programming. My role included coordination of annual planning, staffing, speaker selection and funding for this key Urology Society for our company and I continue this function now with the WSAUA.
During the past 19 yrs in Urology facilitated product management interaction between key national thought leaders in OAB and ED and Prostate. Along with this role, came the responsibility for Strategic planning for the Regional and National teams for proper speaker placement at myriad marketing and educational programs held during the pre and post launch periods for Caverject, Detrol & Detrol LA; pre-launch Prolaris.
Identified and trained established and newer urologists and fellows in the area of medical presentation skills. Speaker development and placement was another important role.
We aided physicians in expanding their presence in their communities to enhance the growth of their practices. Provided successful practice management and marketing techniques and implemented successful strategies for both office staff and physicians.
Trained the sales force with pre-launch data in the areas of ED-Erectile Dysfunction/OAB(Overactive Bladder) and worked cross-functionally to share key information with marketing, product management and the sales teams to accelerate market share @ launch.
